The Vice President, Business Development is responsible for the sales performance, and the growth and development of HEOR sales team and supporting structure. The VP participates in setting sales targets for the group and is responsible for applying those targets across team members, coordinates with Precision marketing and sales support, and collaborates with other Precision teams for growth opportunities outside of HEOR. The VP creates new business opportunities, cultivates key client relationships, and identifies opportunities to enhance and grow current business.Essential functions of the job include but are not limited toLead, manage and develop sales team members to achieve sales performance for immediate and long-term growthIdentify and sell services to existing and new prospective clients, determine appropriate combinations of services to package together, and increase sales to existing accounts and clients through strong customer serviceCollaborate with Research Scientists and other HEOR subject matter experts (SME) to drive business performance.Collaborate with Legal and Contract Administration to develop SOWs, and follow through on executing contractsSuccessfully achieve agreed upon sales metricsManage communications to support department and business unit goals and objectivesBe able to put the PHEOR capability into the wider context of PVH/PFM/PMG to enable the identification of bigger business opportunities for the firm eg, the potential to "cross-sell" multiple different services to one account or client.Specific elements of the job includeNew business development (25%)Secure client meetings to discuss PHEOR offerings. Responsibilities include client outreach, meeting scheduling, and meeting preparation. Lead preparation for external client meetings including background research, coordination of participants, and preparation of presentations.Participate in client pitches that present PHEOR services and capabilities. Specifically, plan and execute sales presentations with prospective clients in collaboration with Research Scientists and relevant subject matter experts (SME).Collaborate with delivery teams (Research Scientists, SME and consultants) to understand client base and prioritize specific clients and client teams to approach for new business.Actively participate in meetings, take notes/minutes, identify and communicate potential opportunities, appropriate follow-up, next steps and responsible parties. Specifically, collaborate with research teams to ensure proposals are timely, meet client research requests, and consistent with client-specific templates and instructions.Qualify and follow up on leads, prospectuses and proposals to convert to awarded/contracted business.Create, manage, and maintain pipeline opportunities in Salesforce for assigned accounts keeping the pipeline accurate and current.Collaborate with Legal and Contract Administration to develop SOWs, and follow through on executing contracts.Account management (15%)Own and lead select accounts and the clients therein. Achieve individual performance metrics for these accounts.Maintain expertise on assigned client's marketed and pipeline product portfolios and be able to serve as the internal expert regarding client's business challenges to project teams.Coordinate and manage RFI's, MSA's, CDAs with client in collaboration with legal and business development administrative teams.Business strategy (20%)Lead strategic planning and corporate initiatives related to all accounts. Specifically, participate in strategic planning, project team meetings, and corporate initiatives related to assigned accounts.Lead quarterly BD team business review and assist BD team members on an account level as needed. Bring new ideas and thinking to the table in order to meet business objectivesDevelop and maintain strategic client relationships in collaboration with assigned BD staff.Contribute to the strategic vision of PHEOR and wider PVH organization.Staff management (40%)Manages BD team day-to-day activity and performancePartner with colleagues and business leaders on staffing decision recommendations (level to hire/when to hire) based on capacity models, utilization, and business pipelineSupport recruiting and candidate vetting in collaboration with HR/Talent AcquisitionCoach, mentor, and develop staff including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunitiesEmpower employees to take responsibility for their career development and goalsMinimum RequiredQualificationsBachelor's degree8 years of business development, marketing or related experience of which 2+ years is within HEORBasic knowledge of and experience within the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with knowledge of the US/EU healthcare sector, and economic, outcomes and policy researchOther RequiredProficiency obtaining financial performanceProficiency with MS Office toolsRequired to be available to work outside the company's standard hours of operation when necessaryAbility to travel (eg to clients and conferences) approximately 30% time (roughly 3 days of travel every other week)Other Preferred2+ years leading business development teams and/or functionsExperience with Salesforce.comHealthcare industry experienceAbout UsFor today's innovators of tomorrow's cures, Precision Value & Health has the scientists, strategists and solutions our client's need to go from promises to proof, and evidence to access.
