FWG Solutions is seeking to hire a technically savvy Chief Operating Officer to oversee and lead the day-to-day client-focused technical and business programs through operational effectiveness. The leader in this role will focus on program organic growth / profitability and operational effectiveness for our firm to support our robust growth. The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and functions as a member of FWG's Executive Management Team (EMT). As a leader at FWG, the COO will have overall responsibility for overseeing revenue-generating functions of our business and executing on our firm's strategic objectives and business priorities. The leader we're seeking to hire must be technically astute, have a thorough understanding of Government Contracting, and have proven and demonstrable track record of building profitable organizations, developing strategies for growth, managing client engagements and building technical teams. The COO will be responsible for planning, organizing, and enhancing internal operations processes to support our short-term and long-term growth goals while operating our programs profitably. Major responsibilities include but not limited to: Responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the company with a focus on organic technical program growth and profitability Manage FWG annual corporate business plan to meet corporate-wide business goals and objectives Effectively manage our IDIQ Center of Excellence and our PMO as a revenue generating function of the business Provide leadership to our Program Managers and Program Directors and assist them in growing their business units Hire, coach and supervise Program Directors and Program Managers company-wide and monitor their goals to make certain that business growth and profitability objectives are met Work closely and partner with the CEO and other leaders on business strategies, plans, processes, procedures, including resource requirements and provide effective leadership and input for all strategic plan implementation processes Manage the execution of an operating strategy including the establishment of policies that promote company culture, values and vision Manage, cultivate, and maintain relationships with new and existing clients (program staff and contracting office staff) to secure and expand recurring revenue streams Set comprehensive performance and growth goals for all Program Directors and Program Managers company-wide Partner with Business Development teams to support capture and bid activities for new programs and participate in proposal development and pricing activities Partner with FWG's finance team to prepare and submit annual operational budgets and accurately report to the CEO on progress made and challenges encountered Qualifications: Experienced in strategic planning and execution with keen expertise at balancing short-term pressures while managing long-term goals Ability to manage multiple, complex projects, changing priorities, and globally dispersed teams that support National Security programs Knowledge of FAR and experience in contract management of GSA Schedules, IDIQs, BPAs and associated Task Orders projects Ability to communicate and lead change and establish operational metrics for business performance improvement and sustainable profitable growth Strong intellectual interest in a broad range of technical, scientific and engineering disciplines Experience with capture and proposal development for federal government Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include occasional weekend and/or evenings Ability to analyze financial data and budgets, and projections is required Education: Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree is required - preferably within a technical field such as Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology Master of Science degree in a technical field AND/OR MBA is preferred PMP or ITIL certifications is required - preferably both Military background and leadership is a significant plus US Federal Government Security Clearance is preferred 3+ Years of consultative IT services selling 5+ Years of experience in Program leadership and Operations 10+ Years of experience in a similar operations and technology role
