FAA Tax LLC in Rockville is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant with a minimum of 3 years tax season preparation experience to join our team. We are looking for an articulate individual who can work well with both our small team and our client base. Our tax practice works very closely with an independent financial services firm. We enjoy proactive tax planning and frequently overlap with clients of financial advisors.ResponsibilitiesPrepare individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary or other tax returns, along with 1099s/W2s/PPTs with a heavy emphasis on busy season (Late January to April 15th) and other important deadlines throughout the yearAssist with tax research and planningAssist with the development of communications to clients and government entities regarding tax complianceApply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare accurate work papers for tax engagementsParticipate in business development activities to include attending networking events and speaking engagementsLearns and upholds the firm's expectation for work quality and professional development as well as the firm's cultural and core valuesAssist team members with other duties as neededEducation and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in AccountingCPA license preferred, 150 credit hours to obtain CPA license is requiredA strong accounting background is required. The ability to read and understand financial statements in order to determine what procedures/adjustments need to be completed to conform to generally accepted accounting principlesExcellent knowledge of Federal and State tax laws and regulations and the ability to perform tax researchExperience with Drake Tax Software is a plus but proficiency in the use of tax software is a requirementStrong knowledge of business tax returns (1120, 1120S and 1065)Strong knowledge of fiduciary income tax returns (1041)Competencies RequiredMust be a team player and be willing to work over-time (including weekends) when necessary to meet client needs and deadlinesAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variablesAbility to make sound decisions under pressureStrong written and verbal communication skills.
