Hours Fridays 5-10 30pmDuties assist with greeting individuals attending mutual aid support groups on Friday evenings at recovery community center and assuring a safe, sober environment for guests-- ideal for a candidate looking to gain experience in peer support toward CPRS certification. Support for CPRS certification provided.Major Areas of ResponsibilityProvides an environment for both people in recovery and staff that demonstrates that recovery is possible.Maintains documentation per agency quality assurance procedures and established recovery support performance standards. Acts in a professional role within the program to promote the mission, ethics & brand promise of the Walden agency. Key Result AreasOutcome Measures Ensures agency outcome measures & key performance indicators are achieved. Service Excellence Promotes service excellence through the use of best practice standards & continuous quality improvement. Customer Service Promotes a good working relationship with internal and external customers that foster Walden's Strive for 5 standards. Specific Responsibilities Of The JobProvides wellness & recovery education & opportunities, either individually or in peer support groups, for every phase of the wellness and recovery journey from pre-engagement, initiation, stabilization, & sustained maintenance. Offers the individual a variety of approved options that supports recovery, wellness, & safety planning.Provides strength based wellness and recovery supportive dialogue either individually or in peer support groups for every phase of the recovery journey. Facilities communication between individuals, family members, and support persons identified per recoveree request & signed release.Identifies internal & external barriers to full participation in community resources and develops strategies to overcome these barriers. Works collaboratively with the individual, agency staff, & other relevant stakeholders to actively identify and support linkages to community resources. Provides shift coverage of the recovery community center as scheduled.Communicates with supervisor regarding customer needs as appropriate. Adheres to all policies, procedures & regulations.Attends & actively participates in staff meetings & trainings as needed.Responds appropriately to the cultural differences of staff, clients, residents, & referral sources.Maintains a positive work atmosphere that promotes Walden's culture. Other duties as assigned.Essential Personnel No.Occasionally, the Agency may close administrative offices due to holidays, inclement weather, emergencies, or special occasions. Positions are classified as essential personnel when their position is required to continue agency operations while the administrative offices are closed. The CEO or designee may excuse essential personnel from reporting for work as circumstances & conditions warrant maintaining minimum staffing requirements for affected facilities.RequirementsLicensure, Education, & Experience HS diploma or equivalent. Must be able to receive & maintain Peer Support Certification status within the State of Maryland within 5 years of hire. Valid driver's license with clean driving history & willingness to travel locally at least 75% of the time. Previous case management or peer mentoring continuing education training preferred.Obtained specialized training in Trauma Informed Care, behavioral health peer support services, & wellness topics desired.Job Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesBelow is a listing of each essential responsibility that the job holder must be able to perform satisfactorily to do the job successfully. Working knowledge of the behavioral health system & documented commitment to the recovery community. Demonstrated ability toUse appropriate judgment & administrative management.Effectively problem-solve using designated tools & methods.Meet/exceed organizational goals/deadlines.Training RequirementsAll COMAR mandatory trainings required within 30 days of hire & as needed. Completion of on the job training checklist within 30 days of hire.Recovery Coach Academy within 6 months of hire.All Agency training requirements.
