Position Overview Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking a Mechanical Systems Associate Engineer to support development, research, and analysis of mechanical systems for autonomous aircraft. As part of a dynamic, highly collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to help Aurora drive innovation and accelerate development of autonomous technology. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, hands on, team-oriented environment.Responsibilities: Supports the design, analysis, test and integration of air vehicle subsystems, including but not limited to landing gear, steering, braking, flight control actuation, hydraulic systems, mechanisms (Launch & Recovery, Payload Doors, EO/IR Ball Retraction, etc), ECS, ground service equipment. Supports definition of requirements for air vehicle subsystems. Manages functional and physical interfaces between vehicle subsystems and the vehicle. Performs analysis, modeling and simulation to verify subsystems and components meet requirements. Supports execution of component, subsystem and system-level testing, including generating test plans and procedures, test execution and analysis of test results. Communicates information about vehicle subsystem design, requirements, and performance between the design team, management, customer, subcontractors, and vendors.
