Job Description Sierra7, Inc. is seeking aJ Rules Developer to join a team providing full DEVOPS lifecycle support and services to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Services. This program will consolidate, reengineer, and sustain a suite of Veteran-facing processes. The candidate must have experience as a J2EE Developer with at least 2 years in jRules/IBM ODM, Drools, or equivalent 8.X version of Java tool set, and implementation and automated testing experience, The candidate must be able to work with program and project leaders to define and create the architectural depictions and documents, ensuring logical flow, and address all issues. The candidate must have experience with a variety of software programs and languages and has some experience in programming. Must be able to design and discuss system strategies for platform, applications and networks. Sierra7 is a US Small Business Administration (SBA) and Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE)-verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOSB) who provides Federal clients system and technology integration, program management, business process optimization, and enterprise solutions. Position Responsibilities: * J2EE developer with experience ORM platforms (Hibernate, etc.), Continuous integration, Web services (REST and SOAP - building and implementing), XML/JSON messaging, Queues (JMS, RabbitMQ, etc.), Rules engine experience. * Web Services, XML, DB (Oracle or other), Unix/Linux. * 2 years jRules or Drools implementation and automated test experience * 2 years reviewing current jRules / IBM ODM or Drools, or equivalent tool set 8.X version, Java, * Must be able to present effectively to leadership * Work independently to review current IBM ODM jRules implementation and automated test scenarios in current system * Experience with modern agile development skills, source code control, unit testing * Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships, customer service management * Strong oral and written communication skills * Experience developing analysis, reviewing project documentation, and writing reports Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree Computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education) * Minimum of 6 years of Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS) experience * Minimum of 4 years of Java experience * Architect (Expert) or Azure DevOps Engineer (Expert) certification a plus * Experience in customer relationship management. * Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships. * 4 years' experience in Java * Agile SAFe certifications [desired] * Experience working in VA or other Government agency [desired] * Ability to obtain a Government security clearance.
