Manager, Business DevelopmentStrategic Insight is looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Manager, Business Development to increase company revenue by identifying profitable business opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies. To be successful as a director of business development, you should be persuasive and have strong business acumen. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills and be adept at negotiating sound business deals. As a direct report to the Chief Operating Office, you will be responsible for managing Strategic Insight's overall business development process to include developing growth strategies for our various business lines, expanding and maintaining the opportunity pipeline, making bid / no-bid recommendations, developing and executing capture plans for growth initiatives and specific opportunities, forming partnerships with large and small businesses, and managing proposals. We are located in Crystal City, VA.SummaryLead the business development efforts for new business and contract recompetes to include business growth strategy / capture, pipeline management, proposal management, and relationships and partnerships development.Success for working in this position requires:+ Proven business development, sales, or marketing experience+ Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; SharePoint familiarity is a plus+ Superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills+ Exceptional leadership and management skills+ Effective communication and negotiation skills+ Ability to communicate orally and in writing is critical+ Strong business acumen+ Detail-oriented and persuasive with a bias for action+ Business development and technical experience with Navy clients in the DC area at a minimum; experience in other DoD and Federal client base is a plus.+ Experience with business development market research tools (eg, DELTEK GovWin, Bloomberg Government, GSA's SAM.gov, etc.) and /or proposal generation platforms.+ Experience with Government (to include Navy at a minimum and NexGen Seaport MAC) proposals and RFP requirements to include the development and management of proposals including preproposal marketing and analysis, competitive pricing strategy development, teaming strategy and development, proposal development including the review team strategy and execution, and successful execution leading to technically strong, compliant, competitive, compelling and winning proposal.+ Recent (within the last 5-7 years) experience with Navy-related clients is highly preferred; experience with other DoD and federal organizations required.+ Established connections and contacts with the clients and companies SI interacts with is also preferred.+ Certified training in formal capture management and proposal development is strongly preferred.Education and Experience + Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to a company business area or in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; master's degree is a plus+ 10+ years of relevant business development, capture, and / or proposal management experience (significant military/government experience may be substituted for some business development experience)Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for a government security clearance at the Secret level.
