The Senior Data Analyst - Predictive Analytics operates as a member of the Data Analytics and Operations Team. This position collaborates with business partners to develop predictive analytics to forecast the performance of various business issues. The successful candidate will serve as a key influencer and champion for the use of predictive analytics to drive and inform daily and strategic decision making.


  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions
  • Research, design, implement, and deploy scalable data analytics vision and machine learning solutions to challenge various business issues
  • Lead and perform data experiments involving the creation of business use cases, hypotheses, and success criteria
  • Provide meaningful insights through advanced analytics models to drive optimization and improvement of key business needs including product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies
  • Communicate results of analysis and ideas to key decision makers
  • Create innovative visuals to enable more effective consumption of data insights
  • Understand the Credit Union\u2019s strategic goals to be able to provide analysis based on data exploration
  • Help the Credit Union to evolve into an analytical and data driven culture
  • Recommend ongoing improvements to existing models and algorithms
  • Partner closely with enterprise data teams to establish standards, processes, thresholds, data dictionaries, and compliance of enterprise data architecture
  • Create documentation around processes and procedures and manage code reviews
  • Apply industry standards best practices to development activities
  • Maintain awareness of current industry trends and make recommendations for future enhancements
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to new and less experienced analysts
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)


  • Bachelors degree in Analytics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related field
  • 6 or more years of relevant experience
  • 6 or more years writing SQL, preferably in SQL Server or Hive (Hadoop)

  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SAS etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and understanding of financial concepts and products
  • Subject matter expertise in data modeling
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into business solutions and strategies
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL, etc.
  • Experience with a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, etc.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with business leads at all levels in the organization
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
  • Experience with a BI analysis and reporting tools, preferably IBM Cognos Analytics or Tableau
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
  • Advance knowledge of Financial Institutions and Systems
