About the People Analytics Team:

People Analytics is an emerging field and Capital One is a leader in this space. Our team brings data, analytics, and insights to shape talent decisions and strategy at Capital One. We work closely with the CHRO and business leaders in shaping talent policy, we automate real-time data and insights to improve talent decision-making, and empower our Associates through behavioral nudges. The team is comprised of people with diverse skills and backgrounds including data analysts and engineers, product managers, data scientists, consultants and strategists, business analysts, HR specialists, economists, and IO-psychologists. Our team culture is start-up-like (fast-moving, innovative) inside a Fortune 100 company.

About the Role:

In this high-profile Director of Business Analysis role within People Analytics, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to help develop and shape talent strategy for one of Capital One's largest lines of business. You will lead a team of analysts and partner with world-class professionals and senior leadership to solve open-ended, complex questions about how we should attract, develop, and retain top talent...and you will do it in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation. This role is an opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to develop a vision and leave their mark in helping Capital One retain and grow its competitive advantage in talent, amidst a disruptive external environment.

General Responsibilities:
  • Strategic leadership:  Work with cross-functional teams to shape talent strategy across Financial Services
  • Leadership:  Lead and inspire a team of analysts to build products, and develop analytically-based insights and policy recommendations. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One
  • Execution:  Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
  • Strategic; analytic orientation: Leverage data and analysis to solve complex business and talent problems. A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: Be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
  • Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise. They should foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and be able to consistently deliver results
  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing and advisory skills with the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals; able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus


Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in analysis
  • At least 3 years of experience in people management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • 3+ year of experience in consulting
  • 5+ years of experience in people management
