Supply Chain - Contract Enablement, Principal Associate

Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) Operations is adding to the team. The individual will be supporting projects and processes across ESM and the Enterprise. This role will leverage contract knowledge and a process management framework to assist in making the buying process better for our associates and suppliers. In addition, this position will partner with our ESM counterparts in support of horizontal projects as needed.

ESM's role is to bring procurement resources, tools, methodologies and judgment to business units to "get the right deal with the right supplier". This involves leading major sourcing and contracting initiatives in an effort to ensure that Capital One captures appropriate value for the company and meets acceptable corporate risk-profiles. We also manage transaction-related communications, negotiations, and contract development with third party suppliers in conjunction with and on the behalf of internal customers and the Capital One Legal Department. In addition, we work closely with other parts of the company that manage on-going supplier relationships, supplier reporting, supplier performance management, customer demand management, category strategy, and internal policy development.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Problem Solving & Strategy Advice: Identify and Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers and platform advancement. Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g. process efficiencies, marketplace opportunities).
  • Collaboration: Build key relationships and demonstrate partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
  • Risk Management: Monitor and ensure data accuracy and contract compliance against policies and procedures by analyzing and correcting data discrepancies. Create and deliver process health and performance metrics
  • Process/Project Management: Partner with leadership and internal groups to plan, design, manage and execute on project deliverables to ensure product delivery


You Should Have:
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, prioritize and multi-task assignments
  • Ability to take ownership and solve problems autonomously
  • Strong understanding of contracts
  • Ability to understand technology and connection with process
  • Ability to assimilate data from various sources and make accurate judgement based decisions
  • High organizational skills with an ability to remain focused and flexible to an ever changing environment


Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 1 years of experience in Relationship Management, Supplier Management, Project Management or Process Management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience in Google Suite
  • At least 2 years of experience in Procurement, Legal or Supply Chain
  • At least 2 years of experience creating and executing contracts
  • At least 2 years of experience with negotiation strategies
  • At least 1 year of experience with Coupa Business Spend Management Platform
