Trade Credit PA Risk Specialist

As a Principal Risk Specialist on Capital One's Card Risk Team, you will be responsible for working with business partners and risk colleagues to identify and manage existing and potential risks to the Capital One Trade Credit Portfolio. Risk Specialists at Capital One are the first line of defense to ensure our Company remains well-managed and profitable. The Trade Credit line of business creates a unique opportunity to be part of the USCard line of business, while supporting a business line focused on Business to Business lending.

Risk Specialists at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. These skills allow the Risk Specialist to gain insights, and act as a change agent to influence their business partners. A successful Risk Specialist operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business they support, applicable laws / regulations and good Risk Management practices. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept. As a Risk Specialist supporting the Trade Credit line of business you will have a high level of exposure across the line of business and have the opportunity to work with 1st line and 2nd line partners to create and manage innovative solutions to appropriately mitigate risks within the Trade Credit business.

  • Consult on Risk to the Trade Credit line of business, providing advice and guidance on risk management practices and address remediation of individual risks and issues as required.
  • Facilitate and/or participate in risk forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management practices.
  • Risk consultation and support for new product intent and merchant engagements.
  • Evaluate and improve the process, risk and control environment, offering advice and guidance across many risk domains
  • Drive collaboration between the risk, compliance and other business support functions (e.g., legal, privacy).
  • Effectively challenge our business partners, 2nd (Compliance and ORM) and 3rd lines (Audit).
  • Analyze data to proactively identify risks and trends.
  • Develop, execute and deliver reporting for risk and process health metrics to inform the business.
  • Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to the business.

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in risk management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of risk management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in performing risk and control assessments, control testing, or assessments against industry risk frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience in Process Management or Project Management
  • Agile, Scrum, or Design Thinking experience
  • Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project management certification
