Summary

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) plays a critical role in facilitating regional economic development efforts in communities across the nation. EDA is seeking quality job applicants under special hiring authority provided under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). These positions are located in our Headquarters Office.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary advisor to the ARP Program Director on American Rescue Plan program implementation, tracking and oversight. Duties would include:
  • Providing project management support for the various ARPA programs.
  • Drafting memos related the ARP program implementation.
  • Helping maintain a dashboard of key metrics related to the ARP programs.
  • Troubleshooting issues or problems that arise related to the ARP programs.
  • Working with various ARP program teams to collect data and provide support as needed.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements in this vacancy announcement are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualifications available on the OPM's website located at: https//www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/ .

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Americorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify for the GS-14 grade level you must have one full year of specialized experience. You must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13. Specialized experience
  • Providing project management support for the various programs.
  • Troubleshooting issues or problems that arise related to the programs

Additional information

Background Investigation: This position is designated as Non-sensitive/Low Risk and requires that a background investigation be conducted and favorably adjudicated in order to establish security eligibility.

Please note this position is being filled under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Employees will be hired under ARPA's Hiring Authority as a Schedule A employee under the Excepted Service for a period not-to-exceed two (2) years.

The salary is contingent upon the official duty location and will be determined based on individual selections.
