Responsibilities

  • Assists in development of annual time-phase (Quarterly Review) Quality Assurance plan of action to include field finance activities that are engaged in all phases of financial administration and operations
  • Performs Quality Assurance reviews/audits to determine the accuracy of the site?s pay entitlement operations, and the effectiveness of the associated internal controls. Examines and analyzes all pertinent records and substantiating documents
  • Evaluates and examines the results of reviews to identify possible problems or weaknesses. Prepares and makes recommendations on proper corrective actions; makes follow-up review to ensure an erroneous condition is corrected.
  • Assists technicians with questions on policies regarding military pay, travel pay, and disbursing, when other guidance is not readily applicable. Performs special reviews of selected pay transaction upon request by service member or other authority.

Qualifications

Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-07 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience:
For the GS-07, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-06 if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as experience gathering records and substantiating documents such as pay vouchers, travel vouchers, etc; reviewing data on various documents and determining the accuracy of financial transactions; gathering and compiling data on operations for management feedback and/or customer briefings.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing KSA's or competencies are required.

Education

GS-07 (1-grade interval) Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled.
