Serves as the Lead Store Associate in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more employees in carrying out the main work assignments needed to successfully operate a commissary store.

Position responsibilities include:
  • Distribute and balances workload among employees, assuring timely accomplishment of assigned workload.
  • Monitor the status of work and makes adjustments in accordance with established priorities.
  • Provide on-the-job training in specific tasks and job techniques.
  • Recommend changes in work methods to improve timeliness and quality of work.
  • Provide input to supervisor on employee performance, conduct and training needs.
  • Perform work in various areas of the commissary.

(A) one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-04 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military, OR (B) Applicants must have completed four years of education beyond the high school level from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education in an appropriate field of study as described elsewhere in this announcement, OR (C) a combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification requirements. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 60. Add the two percentages.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time after competitive appointment . Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate. Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and a copy of your transcript is required as part of your application package.
