The Environmental/Energy Manager reports to Project Manager and will be responsible to ensure operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental System, the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified sustainability requirements affecting this contract.Essential Duties And Responsibilities Management of the EMS and supervision of Environmental personnel in the performance of the contract. Ensure Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System, the Region's energy program, and other specified Sustainability requirements affecting the contract. Develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development and examine the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy. Develop, implement and monitor energy efficiency strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable maintenance practices. Review standard operating procedures, preventive maintenance procedures, and product ordering process in order to implement energy efficient best maintenance practices. Oversee the EMS and be a member of the QMS. Ensure Contractor and subcontractor activities, training, and recordkeeping is in compliance with installation, NAVFAC, state, federal, and local regulations and supports the Navy's goals in the areas of Environmental Compliance and Energy Management. Ensure all training, documents, records, permits, and other data required by state, federal, local regulations, and the contract are maintained correct, complete, and up-to-date. Attend Installation Environmental Office and Navy Energy management meetings pertaining to environmental protection and compliance and energy management related matters. Fully knowledgeable of all safety, environmental, and energy requirements associated with the work they perform Become familiar with and obey all applicable activity regulations, directives and instructions, including fire, traffic, safety and security regulations. Attend meetings, as required by the contract. Minimum RequirementsKnowledge, Experience And Skill Requirements Bachelor of Science Degree AEE Certified Energy Manager or obtain this certification within one year of contract start Minimum two years' experience with environmental procedures similar to those of the contract Desired SkillsMust Be Familiar With Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMSs) Hazardous Waste Management and Spill Response Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) management Underground Storage Tank (UST) management Storm Water Pollution Prevention Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA) Clean Air Act Pollution Prevention Safe Drinking Water Act National Environmental Policy Act Endangered Species Act National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Lead Paint and Asbestos management requirements and regulations. Proof of US citizenshipPhysical, Environmental and sensory Requirements Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility. Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending reaching and lifting. Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. but generally not to the point of being disagreeable.
