Our School Instructors work one-on-one with our learners and receive extensive training and coaching in behavior management. With the continued presence of COVID-19, we are committed to providing our essential services to clients, while maintaining safety for everyone:Face Coverings are required indoorsDaily health screenings are required of all staff and familiesVaccination is strongly recommended and may be required in the future, as may proof of vaccine status, per local health requirements.Responsibilities:Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are Essential:Develop and execute NET plans for learners that incorporate motivation, reinforcers, neutral items, mastered skills and current acquisition skillsDemonstrate effective teaching procedures (most to least prompting, shaping, correction procedures, transfer trials, etc.) during NET instruction and ITT sessionsImplement learners' individualized behavior, toileting, and feeding protocolsAccurately complete daily data responsibilitiesSelf-evaluate videotaped instructional segmentsFollow through on instructional recommendations made by Teacher, Instructional Support Specialist, Education Director, Consultant, and/or school teamMaterials preparation for individual learnersAssist in materials preparation for group instruction, if necessary, as outlined by the teacherParticipate in internal team meetings and high profile meetings for studentsSupport general school procedures: such as arrival, lunch schedules, dismissal, cleaning tasks, field trips, etc.Demonstrate positive work ethic by actively seeking supportive tasks and offering suggestions for program improvementOther duties as assigned*Qualifications:Competencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to help them perform the essential functions of this position.Must have the ability to work independentlyTo use initiative in taking the first steps or act without being urged to complete projects and/or work.Problem solving"the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.Planning/organizing"the individual is detail oriented, prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.Multi-tasking - the individual is able to work on multiple projects at one time.Quality control"the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.To have the ability and flexibility to work effectively in an organization environment that is rapidly growing and changing.Must attend all mandatory training(s).Adaptability"the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.Dependability"the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.Safety and security"the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.Education/Experience:High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.Language Ability:Must be able to speak and read English. The ability to read and interpret documents related to Maryland State Curriculum, accounting, policy and procedures manual(s), safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. The ability to write routine reports, letters and emails as well as general correspondence. Have the ability to speak effectively with special needs children and in describing general work needs and to speak effectively in interpersonal situations.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Widows programs including, but not limited to Word and Excel. Additionally, an individual should have knowledge of Trellis Services web-based systems/programs.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
