WUSA9, the TEGNA owned CBS affiliate in the heart of the nation's capital, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Graphic & Motion Designer in Marketing. This position works collaboratively with the Marketing team and our partners in News, Digital, and Sales to develop ideas and to create memorable graphic support for the station that align with brand and strategic goals. Graphics will be produced for creative including, but not limited to: on-air spots, off-channel multi-platform creative, print collateral, social media assets, digital and mobile assets, set redesigns, experiential, paid media, give away, OTT and more.The ideal candidate is proactive with well-developed critical thinking skills. They can manage a project from concept to completion by assessing graphics needs and then executing the design and delivery in a timely manner.Responsibilities:Create, manage and organize graphic needs for the stationImprove consistency and creativity across our television, desktop, mobile and social platforms through Style GovernanceDesign with relevance to the competitive market, keeping up-to-date with current design trends and the latest technology.Interact daily with marketing, news, digital, and sales to successfully create visually-compelling designs to enhance the storytelling process for our daily newscasts, marketing efforts, and client needsDevelop logos, static graphics, and motion graphics for station initiatives consistent with our brandBe a best in class designer and serve as a sought-after partner internally and with corporate, "The Tank" and other stations.Research, recommend and implement processes, tools and techniques that support a vibrant creative culture and environmentCommunicate with clarity and collaborate well with stakeholders and leaders about needs, opportunities, challenges and projects.Requirements:Expert knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite especially After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and InDesignMinimum of 4 years hands-on design and creative experience with promotion-specific and demonstrated record of success in the television/news industry, brand management, or marketing/digital/advertising agency.Firsthand, working knowledge of on-air and digital promotion production techniques, and familiarity with current production, photography, and videography trends.Experience translating broadcast designs and concepts to interactive digital and social media campaigns.Strong understanding of user design and user experienceExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWillingness to push the limits of design while staying true to the brandComfortable working non-traditional hours in breaking-news situations.Able to perform under very tight deadlinesBroadcast experience preferredGrowth MindsetOUR CULTUREAt WUSA9 we Value: Respect, Honesty, Diversity of Voices Matter, Best in Class, Confident but HumbleOur marketing team aspires to be standard setters in the organization.
