We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced CFO with experience helping companies grow from small to mid-size in the competitive government contracting marketspace.Job DescriptionThe CFO is a strategic member of the C-suite team overseeing, coordinating, and being accountable for all bookkeeping, controllership, and day-to-day internal financial activities of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, working capital management, preparation of regular accounting and financial reports, tax planning and filings, creation of annual budgets and forecasting based upon growth expectations, and development of KPI summaries and operating briefings to the Company leadership team. Responsibility also includes oversight of risk management & compliance, facilities, and legal engagements. The CFO is a skilled communicator with demonstrated success at working proactively with a commercial bank and other vendor/partners to facilitate smooth running operations in collaboration with the CEO & COO, securing cost reductions and ensuring the achievement of long-term objectives. Key to this role is the ability to address market changes and help translate business development/sales models into specific growth strategies to improve top-line revenues and bottom-line profits while mitigating legal, tax, business, and audit risk. The executive team desires a strategic partner who will ask the right questions and propose financial solutions and innovative approaches to enable continued high growth. The successful candidate will be able to articulate financial concepts clearly to the full leadership team, including those with limited financial expertise.What you'll do:Bring expert knowledge of financial best practices for a GovCon growing company, providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.Oversee core functions of the business operations including: payroll, accounting, contracts, risk and compliance, pricing, financial planning & analysis, facilities and legal engagements.Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate fiscal function and performance against established KPI targets.Participate in the development of financial plans and programs as a strategic partner.Manage accounting, finance, contracts and pricing staff. Oversee staff performance and foster professional development so the staff will grow with the company and be prepared to take on larger roles.Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning and evaluate the impact of new programs and regulatory actions.Develop, implement, enhance, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of Company.Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to the CEO, COO and other strategic partners.Optimize relationships with key vendors for banking, insurance, legal and financial needs and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position and minimize risk.Represent the organization with customers, investors and business partners in financial matters.Support and/or lead any transactional or M&A work.Oversee timely tax submittals and tax planning.Perform other duties related to the core functions of the jobRequirementsMinimum Education and ExperienceBA/BS18 years experienceDeep verifiable experience as a hands-on, process-driven finance leader in a growth enterprise(s).At least five years at the Director or Controller level or above within the GovCon industryBasic RequirementsKnowledge of GAAP accounting principles and demonstrated experience in full accounting responsibilities.Experienced in government contracting accounting and pricing including wrap-rate build-ups, cost allocations, and invoicing.Excellent verbal and written communications, including the ability to understand underlying objectives rather than addressing only the questions/topics being discussed directly.Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.Participative management style (ie willingness to express an opinion when in the minority position), while also supportive of collaborative team concept (ie deep listening to alternative perspectives).Well-developed interpersonal skills.Ability to get along with diverse personalities.Ability to quickly establish credibility and be decisive"A cents € but able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.Results-oriented, with the ability to balance other business considerationsSkills that Set You ApartIf you don't have all of the skills below, don't be discouraged"A cents € no resume paints a complete picture of a person.
