Description Job Description:Leidos is seeking a Hardware Engineer who will be a member of a dynamic team working on the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) En-Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) technology, which is the heart of the Next Generation Air Transportation System and the pulse of the National Airspace System helping to advance our transition from a ground-based system of air traffic control to a satellite-based system of air traffic management. ERAM is vital to the future of air navigation, providing the foundational platform required for FAA to enable NextGen solutions, via modernization programs such as System Wide Information Management, Data Communications, and Automatic Dependent Surveillance- Broadcast. ERAM will provide benefits for users and the flying public by increasing air traffic flow.Hardware Engineer Responsibilities:A' Will be responsible for performing design and development engineering assignments related to hardware products and systems, which includes the development of new products and/or updates to existing products. Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of narrow technical domain. Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies.A' Duties may include:A' A cents € cents A' A' A' Providing direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication and providing design information to drafting for packaging documentation.A' A cents € cents A' A' A' Supports product selection trade studies, development of System Bill Of Materials, Rack and Console builds, CAD drawing updates, Cable Marking Specifications and the creation of Retrofit and Workbook Installation Instructions.A' A cents € cents A' A' A' Support level duties may include activities such as design, testing, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of devices or equipment. May be responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines, developing or executing project plans, budgets, schedules, and documentation of work and results.A cents € cents A' A' A' Supporting tasks involving performing system fault analysis, life cycle maintenance and integrated product support (IPS) of major systems.A cents € cents A' A' A' Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for sparing.A cents € cents A' A' A' Develop/update life cycle management processes for new and existing systems.A cents € cents A' A' A' Work with the Leidos sites to repair and replenish fielded equipment and develop field failure metrics to determine and mitigate failure trends.A' A cents € cents A' A' A' Other duties will include supporting the engineering change process and other duties as assigned.Qualifications:A cents € cents A' A' A' Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.A cents € cents A' A' A' Strong Communication and Experience working with Microsoft Office is required (eg, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).A cents € cents A' A' A' Candidates having experience in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor, VISIO, or CAD software tools is a plus.A' Preferred Qualifications:A cents € cents A' A' A' Desirable to have experience in electronic systems sustainment strategies, Maintenance Planning and Development.A cents € cents A' A' A' Desirable to have familiarity with Materiel Release, Equipment Fielding, and Transfer, Integrated Product SupportA cents € cents A' A' A' Communicates with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes and practices related to this area.TSFAAExternal Referral Bonus:IneligibleExternal Referral Bonus $:Potential for Telework:NoClearance Level Required:Public TrustTravel:Yes, 10% of the timeScheduled Weekly Hours:40Shift:DayRequisition Category:ProfessionalJob Family:Systems Hardware DevelopmentPay Range:
