This position is responsible for conducting classes and courses of Instruction to career and volunteer members of the Fire/EMS Department. The work is performed under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of the Fire/EMS Training and Leadership Academy, and performance is evaluated in terms of its contribution to managerial improvement and organizational efficiency.Examples of WorkWhat You'll Do:Provide and conduct classes and courses of instruction to career and volunteer member of the Fire/EMS Department;Prepare classrooms for training sessions;Monitor and evaluate programs using test scores, student and instructor feedback personal observation, and critique forms;Work in partnership with Agency Staff in developing training curriculum and content to address performance deficiencies, staff development, and rank specific training;Oversee staff completing of training courses and ensures that all required documentation is collected;Develop and evaluate Fire/EMS Department programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and national standards;Supervise adjunct instructors, student officers/civilians attending the FIre/EMS academy;Review, prepare, document and ensure that all reports and documentation are completed;Perform other tasks and duties assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.Minimum QualificationsWhat You'll Need:Bachelor's degree in Education, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
