Job Description SummaryJob Overview Performs physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Responsible for cycle counting activities Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges. Must have forklift certification. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves basic issues associated with material/warehouse operations.Job DescriptionResponsibilities and DutiesPerforms administrative and physical tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, staging and supplying materials (raw, work-in-process and finished goods), parts and supplies, to operators, workstations and distribution centerMay prepare goods for shipment to the distribution centerComplete all necessary SAP Training to obtain the necessary profilesMay be responsible for orderingrequired materials from outside vendors and offload all deliveries from outside vendors and do goods receipts for the deliveriesPhysically locate the materials in the warehouse and then perform transactions in SAP to locate them in the systemDo bin to bin transfers for all moves from the warehouse to the PSA'sHand load carts/racksequipmentand deliver to production areasRun Material Staging in SAPMay evaluate allproduction schedulesand determine materials needed from outside vendorsMaintain required levels of materials in the various PSA'sDemonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Must follow all BDhousekeeping policies and proceduresMust follow all BD safety policies and proceduresMust be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirementsPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum Education/Experience:High schooldegreewith 2 years' experiencein a shipping environmentwith minimum 1 year SAPPrevious work experience with the use of material handling equipment (pallet jacket, forklift, shrink wrapper)- must be able to obtain in-house fork truck certification.Valid driver's license requiredBasic Skills:Ability to work on assignments that are manual and routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specificationCan effectively work in a team settingand communicate effectively across the departmentMust be able to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs, both manually and/or electronically on a personal computerMust be able to effectively manage frequent assignment changesProficient/Working Skills:Mustbeproficient in English with the abilityto read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmeticBasic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers)and basic use of Windows environment is requiredUse independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solveMust be able to work in a repetitive work environment and be able to stand for long periods of timeWork Shift10:00 PM - 6:30 AMSteel toe shoes requiredBecton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
