You make it your own by embracing autonomy, seizing opportunity, and being trusted to deliver your best every day.Our work depends on an ETM Core Network Engineer joining our team to support JSP-ETM activities at the Pentagon.As a ETM Core Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the health and maintenance of a large, complex networking infrastructure. This includes providing network administration and operational support to more than 8000 networked devices. The engineer will provide comprehensive network administration, security enhancements and remediation, and troubleshooting of network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, WIFI, and VoIP. This position requires an understanding of best practices pertaining to network security and may require the development, deployment, and integration of network security services. Successful candidates should be able to work both independently and as part of a team. In this role, a typical day will include:Provide problem and incident resolution, including dealing with software and hardware vendor technical supportDeploy and maintain network hardware, peripherals, services, and settings in accordance with industry standards and project/operational requirementsPerform daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity and availability of networking hardware, services, systems, and key processes; reviews system and application logsDocument and perform network upgrades and modifications during ASI windowsProvides on-call troubleshooting and issue resolution as requiredDevelop and maintain installation and configuration proceduresPartner with the information security personnel to assess potential exposure to vulnerabilities, identify mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with enterprise security baselines and standardsAct as a liaison with other groups to provide information sharing pertaining to the needs of the diverse set of computer users supported by the client as a whole.Develop scripts and other automation solutions to aid in the completion of migration and integration tasks.Review problems to understand the root causes of issues and ensure proper fixes are implementedProvide phone support to users during the time of peak demand as needed.Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issuesBe responsive and decisive on adjusting architecture as customer requirements and technology evolvesCoordinate with on-site support personnel while troubleshootingUse enterprise service management tools to initiate, respond, and track service requestsCreate reports and analyze performance metricsAdhere to change management processes and proceduresREQUIRED SKILLS:Active TS/SCI clearanceDoD 8570 IAT II Certification5+ years of related experienceOne of the following Networking Certifications - Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), ArubaCandidate must be willing to obtain an Aruba Certification within 90 days from start of employmentBachelor's Degree in a related field OR equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.Possess flexibility to operate in a highly dynamic environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectivenessDetail oriented with ability to work well in a team environmentBroad understanding of network infrastructure topologies, security policies, firewalls, and the L2/L3 switch and router infrastructureExtensive experience hardware troubleshooting, managing and monitoring the health of Cisco and Juniper routers and switchesDeploying, managing, and troubleshooting network systems, switching, and routing protocol standards such as: TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, and802.1x.Managing and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP in a large multi-site environmentUsing network management and analysis tools such as SNMP probes, network taps, and traffic analyzersNetwork Management & Performance platforms, such as NetScout, IBM NetCool, Solarwinds NMS products, NetBrain, InfovistaManaging Cisco Prime/Junos SpaceExperience w/Building configurations using CLIExperience w/Network security, including firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN, and vulnerability remediationCreating & updating network topologies using VisioCreating and documenting processes and creating work instructionsWorking as a part of a large team and working directly with customersSupporting teleworkers and remote access technologiesCreating scripts to automate routine administration tasksMust have hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systemsDESIRED SKILLS:Aruba Certification (ACSA and/or ACSP, depending on role)Experience with F5 load balancers to include troubleshooting, configuring, upgrading, maintaining, and monitoring an enterprise F5 load balancer network architectureF5 Network certificationExperience with Infoblox IP Address Management (IPAM) and DHCPExperience utilizing Remedy ITSMExperience administering and troubleshooting server operating systems such as Linux, Windows, or UNIXExperience with LDAP/PKI#ETMcareerScheduled Weekly Hours:40Travel Required:NoneTelecommuting Options:Telecommuting Not AllowedWork Location:USA VA ArlingtonAdditional Work Locations:We are GDIT.
