Linux Systems Administrator Location: Fairfax, VA. / Maryland Required Clearance: Top Secret/SCI w/ CI Poly Job Description: ITEC is looking for a talented System Administrator to join our team. Job Responsibilities: - Proactively manage system infrastructure including, databases, testing computer equipment, and other software and hardware. - Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues that may arise. - Perform system monitoring and analysis verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, performance tuning and troubleshooting of servers, software and hardware and respond to anomalies. - Regularly upgrade system software and firmware as required. - Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system. Skills: - BS degree in Computer Science or similar field preferred, relevant work experience may be substituted. - 5+ years of experience as a system administrator. - In-depth knowledge and experience with Linux operating system. - Good knowledge of several scripting languages. - GITLAB and puppet experience desirable. - GPFS/IBM ESS experience desirable - Experience with Cloud Environments and architectures under K8s orchestration desirable. - General understanding of IP networks, switching, subnets and VLANs. - General understanding of hardware to include Servers, Blade Chassis, Fiber Channels, SANS - Ability to respond to support requests after hours. - Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing environment. - Knowledge of system security concerns and vulnerabilities. - Experience with RH Directory Server or FOSS alternatives - Good problem-solving abilities. - IA certification (either Security+ or CISSP).
