Maintains current transplant listing information forpatients and screens patient emergency calls. These functions are performed inaccordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar GeorgetownUniversity Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards. The PRN role for on call Transplant Coordinators functions in an as needed basis with no guaranteed number of hours weekly.Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited college or university. Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred. Five to seven years of related research/transplant data experience; previous outpatient / transplant patient experience and contributions to clinical research highly desirable. CPR certification. Current DC license as a Registered Professional Nurse preferred. Excellent understanding of implementing and maintaining transplant database and statistical information related to research. Must be detail-oriented, and have familiarity with necessary computer/database software and hardware. Understanding of professional healthcare practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of patient relations and education; familiarity with clinical research protocols. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
