As the Lead, People Services you will work closely with our Chief Operating Officer/Chief People Officer, to lead a team of Human Resource professionals -- providing managerial and subject matter leadership -- for the daily functions of our People Services organization. Your organization is responsible for recruiting, administering pay, training, benefits, employee leave, employee welfare, and assisting with implementing and assuring compliance with company policies and practices. Duties/Responsibilities: Supervisory Responsibilities:Lead a team of HR professionals providing managerial and subject matter leadershipRecruit, interview, hire and train new staff on the People Services teamOversees the daily workflow of the teamProvides constructive and timely performance evaluationsHandle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policyFunctional Responsibilities: Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's people and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs in recruiting retention, and succession planning Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance Ensure all people policies, procedures and processes are aligned with the organization's culture and values Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and company leadership Conducts, tracks, and documents employee training Develops and delivers training to leadership to explain policy, procedures, and facets of human resource-type company programs Assists in the development and maintenance of Position Descriptions Works closely with members of the People Services team to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with organization's leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications Conducts new hire orientation Assists with employee recognition programs Assists with resolving internal conflicts as well as offer counseling to employees Assists leadership with employee feedback and performance reviews Assists in the development and maintenance of merit and bonus planning (Exempt/ Non-Exempt) to ensure fair and equitable pay utilizing corporate guidelines Assists the Chief People Officer with resolving employee relations issues that arise Provide coaching and guidance for People Services team members Maintains the employee handbook Maintains electronic personnel records RequirementsRequired Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge: EEO-1 information, OHSA 300, and other regulatory reporting requirements FMLA, ADA, EEO/Affirmative Action, Worker's Compensation, Unemployment, and other employment laws, regulations, and Executive Orders Skills: Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor In-depth knowledge of performance metrics Excellent communication and leadership skills Organizational and time-management skills Decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution Strong analytical and problem-solving Exceptional presentation skills Abilities:Ability to obtain a government security clearanceAbility to prioritize and delegate tasks when appropriateAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityEducation/Experience: MUST have at least 4 years of experience working for a federal contractor, preferably a mid-size business Steady progression in HR Management for the last 10 years BA/BS in Human Resources or Business Administration with a focus on HR 8(a) Firm experience - considered a plus! HR Systems Administration Professional certification for human resource managers - considered a plus! Preferred: Experience supporting government customer We are currently unable to sponsor Visa candidates. Must be US Citizen green card holder with ability to obtain a public trust clearance. Relocation is not available.
