In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas
  • Human Centered
    • You'll define clear and actionable problem statements to help teams deliver results while displaying a comprehensive understanding of iterative software delivery, capable of thin-slice MVP grooming
    • You'll leverage customer insights to influence priorities and roadmap feature development while advocating for and driving alignment between stakeholders in the development of acceptance criteria
    • You'll obsess over UX/UI patterns and seek to create world class, omni-channel experiences


  • Business Focused
    • You'll own and prioritize the near-term product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, quickly identifying points of leverage in complex problems or systems, and utilizing data effectively to define success metrics and measurable outcomes
    • You'll utilize balanced judgment in decisions about risks of both actions taken and not taken while innovating on ways to iterate faster in a well-managed way for the immediate team


  • Technology Driven
    • You'll understand and leverage technology and end-state architecture vision to partner with technology team to drive comprehensive design decisions out of white space technical problems
    • You'll share business strategy and roadmap with Tech partners to establish context while also leading and facilitating agile ceremonies alongside Tech Lead
    • You'll deliver value by creating reusable, extensible and resilient capabilities and proactively identify opportunities when key metrics on security, resilience and performance are not performing


  • Transformational Leadership
    • You'll develop and communicate a 6-month vision to senior stakeholders and partner teams with accurate details and transparency on risks and impediments, and proactively build relationships with those outside of your immediate team resulting in horizontal influence
    • You'll Contribute to team culture and recruiting by leading activities to attract and retain top talent and mentoring and developing junior product associates

About ID Proofing

The Identity Proofing team within Consumer Identity is focused on creating industry leading experiences to verify identity information, protecting Capital One and our customers from fraud. We are looking for a results-driven team player who is comfortable in white space to join our team. You will spend your first six months rotating across our four tech teams, getting exposure to our Government ID service, back-end platform strategy, User Interface experimentation, and next generation ID proofing innovation strategy. Our team will provide exceptional mentors in all facets of product delivery giving our apprentice a well-rounded perspective to set up for success for hands-on ownership in the second half of the program.

In this role you will:
  • Lead a highly dynamic and multi-disciplinary team to develop new identity products. You will translate business strategies and client needs into products that delight our customers and position our company for substantial growth. You are a dynamic product owner who will rally the team and work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Collaborate with internal partners. You will be exceptional at developing and nurturing relationships with key internal stakeholders in support of Capital One's lines of business.
  • Collaborate with external partners. You will also help us nurture relationships with key external stakeholders in the digital ecosystem including academics, entrepreneurs, and leading digital companies. You will be a key team member in enabling relationships with external pilot partners.


Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will be able to understand customer expectations; identity security industry best practices; current gaps & technical constraints; drive requirements and ultimately partner with IT Delivery, Operations, enterprise teams (e.g. Legal, Compliance) and third-party vendors to deliver the optimal customer experience.
  • The ideal candidate has a strong track-record of leading the delivery of high-quality digital products and services in an Agile development environment. You embrace Design Thinking and apply lean product and user driven design principles when developing and refining product features and capabilities. You can articulate how the activities under your stewardship directly impact the business, and you can ensure that business requirements are translated into digital solutions that get delivered on-time and on-budget.
  • Manage operational planning and delivery of key strategic digital experience programs/products across our channels, translating digital strategy through deployment of best-in-class digital client experiences and internal sales & marketing tools.
  • Collaborate with sales, technology, operations, brand, compliance, and business partners to coordinate and manage resources and activities to maximize impact and overall return on investment.
  • Interface with 3rd party vendors and contractors, where required, to deliver necessary pieces of our digital platform(s) with fiscal and time-to-market excellence.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 year of product management experience or at least 3 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile product management
