This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM).
As a Health Insurance Specialist (Program Oversight), GS-0107-13, you will develop, evaluate, and implement compliance, audit and oversight requirements, policies, operating procedures related to activities and processes involved with monitoring and oversight of external CMS stakeholders.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead tasks designed to develop, evaluate, and implement Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, Marketplace Exchange, or private health insurance programs.
- Evaluate and analyze the impact of new or revised changes to legislation before the Congress pertaining to any CMS program.
- Develop and review health care policies and legislation in order to draft related policy documents, regulations, procedures and guidance to states.
- Establish and maintain contacts and working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders required to plan and execute tasks.
- Attend meetings and conferences with CMS staff and serve as a source of background data on the basis of research performed in preparation for the meetings and conferences.
