For almost 40 years, we've been building a reputation for quality, service and safety.Overview:The Coax Installation Technician's primary responsibilities include ability to splice, test, repair cables & wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and taking splicing field notes.Responsibilities:Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of coax cableTest, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installationBasic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicleSelf-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary.Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily productionReconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.Frequently work independentlyOther splicing related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagramsAbility to distinguish colorsMust have a high school diploma or equivalentMust be able to pass pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, and drug testPossess a valid driver's license (class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class "B" - light commercial) Must have a valid driver's licenseMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screeningsPreferred Qualifications:Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climberOSP telecommunication construction experience; cable experienceExperience in splicing, balancing, and documenting CATV systemsPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistanceMust be able to work nights and weekends, if necessaryMust be able to work in all weather conditionsIND1Our Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind including, based on disability and protected veteran status.
