To learn more about what the Eastern Shore area has to offer, please review It's a Shore Thing!Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Associate Vice President of Administration and Finance.Primary Job Duties: Ensure the overall accuracy and integrity of the University's accounting, budgeting and financial records are compliant and in compliance with the USM Board of Regents Policy, state of Maryland regulations, and federal guidelines and requirements. The scope of this position is to oversee the financial accounting operations of the University including budgeting, financial accounting, accounts payable, payroll, inventory and student centric ancillary business services such as bursar, parking and tuition residency matters. As such, this position is:Responsible for assuring appropriate internal controls and best business practices are implemented through the university and for maintaining accurate records of transactions from financial statements to employee pay.To direct the day-to-day management of accounting processes and is responsible for the development of the University financial statements.The functional point person for the financial implementation and the primary resource for ERP-related questions after the implementation.To oversee internal and external strategic budget planning, development and reporting.This position reports directly to the Vice President of Administration and Finance.Minimum Qualifications: Greater than ten years of related experience and a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution. Technically proficient in the mining, querying, and analysis of data and the reconciliation of data, financial activity, and account balances between multiple systems. Knowledge and experience in managing higher education financial operations; or equivalent management experience in other similar scope and size industries (eg health care). Must be able to contribute to the institutions diversity and inclusiveness goals in all aspects of the work and sustain relationships within a multicultural organization.Must be detail-oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills Must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), is required.Preferred Qualifications: Masters of Business Administration and CPA, or equivalent preferred.This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package.
