Controller The Controller will be responsible for providing financial leadership for the company by participating in the development of controls, training employees on new procedures, and providing oversight of those procedures while delivering overall business support to the company. The ideal candidate will need to be system savvy and an expert in excel and be ready to be hands-on in working with the corporate office to build the system from the ground up. To be successful in this role you must be a self-starter, assertive, a strong communicator, an excellent trainer and team builder. Job Responsibilities: Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for the business unit. Annual budgeting and performance analytics. Provide general accounting and/or back-office support as needed. Manage and drive ERP implementation. Hire, train and manage accounting assistant designated for A/P and A/R. Manage, coordinate, and prepare for annual inventory physical. Develop and implement procedures, train staff on processes and oversee adherence to policies. Participate in building inventory flow in the system and implementing receiving procedures. Develop tools to integrate quoting system with ERP system. Develop reporting tools to manage the business and update the team on standard reporting metrics. Manage inventory flow. Provide oversight to ensure materials are being received and issued accurately and timely. Ensure manufacturing orders are recording all materials, labor and overhead before being posted into the system. Conduct monthly cost roll by reviewing system costs to most recent purchase costs and make appropriate adjustments. Work with large sets of data in excel and be able to parse, sort, analyze, re-format data in a way that is useful for the purposes of building reports, and/or creating imports and exports. Other duties as assigned by VP of Finance. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance. 5 10 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Solid working knowledge of inventory flow and manufacturing processes. Advance Excel skills. ERP system implementation experience, Accpac/Sage 300 a plus. Periodic travel to Houston, TX required.
