Senior Accounting Manager Our client, the nation's leading market and management consulting firm to the real estate industry seeks to fill the role of Senior Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team located in our Bethesda, MD HQ location. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proficient at multi tasking, and highly organized. Salary range: 95/k-115/k Depending on Experience Responsibilities: Accounting Responsibilities: The position requires deep expertise with the standard accounting processes necessary to manage a very active department in a multi-company, multi-state environment. The successful candidate will be expected to have the knowledge and experience to develop, cultivate and apply best practice standards across the entire accounting lifecycle. Specific responsibilities would include: Management of the Period Closing Process - Lead the timely close of the accrual and cash based books for multiple entities on a monthly and annual basis. Monitor multi-company and inter-company transactions - Directly responsible for reviewing charges between entities, as well as maintaining the books for several affiliate companies. Assets Management- Supervise tracking of assets, appreciation/depreciation, monthly lease payments, write-offs, etc. AP/AR/Cash management - Supervise collections, disbursements, invoicing, treasury operations, investment and cash account management, check-runs, etc. Payroll - Supervise semi-monthly payroll processes including appropriate calculations for benefits accruals, Tax Returns - Prepare property taxes, excise taxes, and local returns and work directly with corporate CPA to ensure timely file, payment estimation and recordkeeping. Compliance - Ensure appropriate segregation of duties across the accounting lifecycle as well as build and enforce best practices for adherence to GAAP, FAR, FASBE and other corporate accounting standards. Leadership Responsibilities: This position includes the direct supervision of 3 reports: a Senior Accountant, Project Accountant and Accounting Operations Assistant. In addition to direct oversight of this staff, the Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for training and development, counseling and discipline, supervision and validation of the accounting team's work output, and scheduling and capacity planning. Accounting Environment: Our client uses Deltek Vision Accounting System - The Accounting Manager will be required to become knowledgeable about all parts of the system and help implement new features. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our client is fully utilizing the core accounting modules. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for maintaining the GL account structure and learning the report writing features. Minimum Qualifications: Undergraduate Degree in Accounting/Finance 5-7 years of Accounting experience including some in a supervisory role Advanced coursework in Accounting/Finance preferred CPA preferred Past Experience in a government contract environment preferred Bethesda/DC/Northern VA local candidates only please.
