Peraton is seeking a mid-level Lifecycle Systems/Software Engineer in our Chantilly, VA office in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team. As part of the engineering team you will support an exciting program which involves a very talented, highly motivated, high-performing, multi-industry team overseeing space command and control portfolio management, data architecture, multi-level security and engineering, cybersecurity, and user support functions that incorporate the Agile development process. We use the most cutting-edge technology to provide innovative solutions as we tackle the most challenging obstacles head on by thinking differently and having a tremendous drive to succeed.Responsibilities:You will work closely with a DoD customer, industry partners, and various stakeholders throughout the system/software lifecycle in development, integration & test, deployment, and operations of a highly sophisticated enterprise-level command and control architecture.You will define strategic level best practices and guidelines for mission-critical software architecture and testing activities for multiple capability development groups.You will participate in development activities related to various technology areas.Technology areas include C2 system capabilities, integration of external interfaces (sub-systems, data source, etc.), technical operations & discrepancy resolution/management, data management architecting & processing, cybersecurity, multi-level security solutions, etc. Required Qualifications:You have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and able to obtain a polygraph upon hire.You hold a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. However, equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degreeYou have 3 to 7 years of experience in a Systems/Software engineering related field.You have experience in one or more of the following technical areas:Agile development process, portfolio managementCI/CD process automationData orchestration/transmission/processing; data feed provenanceDeep learning, machine learning, and artificial intelligenceCybersecuirty, accreditiation, and risk management frameworkCross Domain Solutions for processing, data and networkingQuality assurance & testing; discrepancy management/resolutionYou have experience or familiarity with one or more of the following:SCRUM, Kanban, XPREST, GraphQL, ActiveMQ, ZeroMQ, KafkaJava, Python, JavaScriptXML, JSON, Avro, ProtobufContainers, Serverless, ML.AI, No-code/Low-CodeYou have experience with virtualization/ cloud-based technologies (eg, OpenStack, Citrix XenServer Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and/or VMWare), Docker Containers, Ansible, and Heat templates.You can express yourself confidently, concisely, and accurately through written and oral communications.You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, management, and DoD/IC stakeholders. Effective in both a team environment and an individual contributor role. Firm knowledge in engineering principals and troubleshooting. You are detail/process oriented, can multi-task, and can work with minimal supervision. Desired Qualifications:You have experience in designing, developing, and integrating a complete satellite ground system to include infrastructure, processing frameworks, and software components.You have experience with front end processing and network gateway appliances and/or software.You have experience working in an Agile Scrum team environment.You have experience with multiple phases of the systems/software development life cycle.You have familiarity with any or all of the following, preferably in a satellite ground system context: Object-oriented development practices and processes, open architecture systems, distributed computing technologies, web services, SOA, networking technologies, requirements management tools, scripting, automated test tools, modeling and simulation, and/or security certification and accreditation processes.Peraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
