The Senior Chief Engineer is responsible for: 1) the effective daily leadership and administration of the engineering team, 2) operational management with the objective of safely, efficiently, and effectively operating machinery and systems in a cost-effective spire, supervise, manage and administer engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, administration and personal development.Assist in managing all operational aspects of the properties in the market/region as directed by the Regional Facility Manager, the Regional Engineering Manager and other senior account leaders.Provide senior technical support and leadership at the properties in the market/region.Manage, document and escalate daily field operational issues as appropriate to regional managers, lead technical personnel and/or the client. (First point of contact)Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building's staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Implement, administer, and manage the regional safety training program.Assist in managing the operations audit process as directed by the respective Regional Engineer/National Engineer account managers.Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building's infrastructure. Responsible for alerting management of building discrepancies.Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation for the building including up-to-date building drawings and single-lines as well as documentation mandated for the purpose of maintaining regulatory compliance with Federal, State or Local law.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:10+ years Chief Engineer experience required, including supervisory, managerial, maintenance process and compliance experience.Leadership:Builds, shapes and communicates the firm's values and culture; demonstrates integrity, personal responsibility, initiative and the ability to energize, persuade or influence others; fosters creativity, innovation, and teamwork. Willing to take appropriate level of risk.Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.Strategic Thinking - Demonstrates the ability to think broadly, create a shared vision, and embrace change as an opportunity, including demonstrates "thought leadership"; creates sound strategies; anticipates and responds to future challenges of the firm, business unit, and clients with innovative and thoughtful recommendations that influence rather than respond to the environment.Professional Skills:Technical Competence, Analysis/Problem Solving, Project Management, Teambuilding, Construction Planning and Execution.Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally (verbal and written).Universal CFC certification required.Knowledgeable of HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, and electrical systems engineering and operationWorking knowledge of computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing and CMMS systemsBuilding ManagementMonitor operation and maintain refrigeration, water cooling and air conditioning equipment, boilers, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping and filters and other mechanical and electrical equipment. Review logs as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions on an as need basis. Perform preventive tasks when required. Oversee repair and preventative maintenance of HVAC systems; determine frequency of repair and/or preventative maintenance for HVAC systemsEnsure the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the building. Specific duties include but are not limited to: preparing and submitting purchase orders requests, developing sources for stock materials and performing periodic checks of inventory levels and equipment conditions.Responsible for overseeing the activities of contractors working within the building.Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.TrainingProvide training and support aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff. Specific duties include but are not limited to: demonstrating the proper use and care of tools and instruments, giving hands on instruction in basic maintenance, safety and troubleshooting procedures, recommending relevant outside engineering courses for enrollment and instilling an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance.Ensure 100% on-time accomplishment of required training (JLL and customer), for self and direct reports by assigning and tracking.SafetyIdentify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building's staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Implement, administer, and manage safety training program.Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building's infrastructure.
