Term Psychology Faculty The George Mason University, Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, instructional faculty position in clinical psychology to begin Fall 2022. The Department has 45 faculty members, including 8 instructional, non-tenure-track faculty who are vital to the department's educational mission. Non-tenure-track faculty are fully integrated in the department, with similar voting rights and access to resources and professional development opportunities as tenure-track faculty. The department is guided by three primary foci. First, the department is focused on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels in our department and, more broadly, in our field. This mission is facilitated by our location in one of the most diverse regions of the country and by George Mason's status as the most diverse university in Virginia and one of the 20 most diverse public universities in the US, and our role as the host institution for the Mid-Atlantic Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC). Second, in line with George Mason's Carnegie classification as a Research I university and its strategic goal of conducting research of consequence, our department focuses on being a prominent center for translational research. Third, we focus strongly on our teaching and training of students in all programs. Our clinical program has a clinical science orientation, with intensive training of doctoral students in evidence-based approaches.Responsibilities:This position will support both the clinical psychology doctoral program and the undergraduate program. More specifically, the successful candidate will participate in teaching and supervision of doctoral students' clinical work in our community-based training clinic (https://psyclinic.gmu.edu/) as well as teach advanced undergraduate students in evidence-based behavioral health techniques. Required Qualifications:Individuals should have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology, a commitment to the education of a diverse student body, and a strong interest and expertise in evidence-based behavioral health approaches. Candidates should also be licensed or license-eligible in Virginia. Candidates who will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. conferred before the start of Fall 2022 classes will be considered eligible for this posting. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with both in-person and online undergraduate courses is a plus but not required. Candidates who are interested in contributing to our culturally inclusive environment, in support of our highly diverse student body, will be preferred.
