Assistant Professor of Psychology, ClinicalThe George Mason University Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Clinical Psychology to begin Fall 2022. With this number of students and over 40 faculty members, psychology is one of the largest departments in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, which is one of the largest colleges at George Mason. Our department is guided by three primary foci. First, the department is focused on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels in our department and, more broadly, in our field. Faculty are highly dedicated to the success of our graduate students, and our programs' rankings continue to rise.About the Clinical Program:The Clinical program aims to include, serve, and engage with diverse populations in all of its endeavors, and candidates should demonstrate an ability to contribute to that aim. Candidates should demonstrate rigorous scholarship and strong skills related to teaching and mentorship. The position is open to research specialization.The successful candidate will be part of the Clinical area, which is a clinical science program and consists of nine tenure-track faculty, two non-tenure-track faculty, and about 35 doctoral students. Clinical faculty conduct research in several areas, including anxiety, suicide, eating disorders, trauma, substance use, and well-being and with diverse populations in the community. Responsibilities:Maintain a highly productive and impactful research program;Teach graduate and undergraduate courses pertaining to Clinical Psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Ethics); Advise doctoral students.Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology;Must be licensed or license-eligible in Virginia. Promising research record; Skill set related to teaching/mentoring; Commitment to inclusivity in teaching, mentoring and research of diverse populations.Preferred Qualifications:We are particularly interested in applicants with training in evidence-based treatments and experience in working with individuals from diverse and marginalized backgrounds.
