Job Description

Our Bank Data Science Team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to conceptualize and evaluate business value derived from Capital One Bank's machine learning models.

We're looking for a highly motivated, technical business analyst to help evaluate, monitor, and communicate value across our portfolio of ground-breaking ML models in the areas of fraud prevention, bank operations, marketing, and financial product forecasting and performance. You'll help define key performance indicators for model monitoring, and will aim to provide clear and comprehensive performance analysis to our leadership, partners, and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of SQL, Python, machine learning concepts, cost analysis, data visualizations, and data and financial storytelling. This role requires one to be an eager collaborator and problem solver who is willing to jump quickly into analysis when new needs arise.

General Responsibilities

  • Analysis and model portfolio valuation: Evaluate business contributions of the Bank Data Science portfolio of machine learning models, either directly to P&L and/or to major business decisions within the Bank. Identify opportunities for greater business impact and periodically analyze opportunity cost for our group
  • Execution: Develop and test value framework hypotheses, partner with business teams across Bank to validate analysis, and develop and implement periodic value monitoring and reporting plans
  • Clearly communicate findings: with impeccable written and verbal skills, inform our team, leadership, and partners on value findings, make sound data-based recommendations, and proactively collaborate in solution development
  • Professionally manage stakeholders and partners in cyclical model valuation activities


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

At least 1 year of experience in analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

1+ years of experience in Statistical model building

1+ years of experience in market research

1+ years of experience in SQL querying

2+ years of experience in business analysis

1+ years of experience in consulting
