GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes: 1. Utilizing REVIT to create structural details and plans from direct oversite by section engineers; 2. Reviewing structural details, plans (drawings), or CAD model for basic coordination; or 3. Assisting engineers with preparation of quantity estimates.
OR
One full year of graduate education (18 semester hours) in a field directly related to the work of the position such as engineering, construction, or industrial technology. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: You must upload a copy of your transcripts with your application package.

Combining Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Responsibilities
- GS-07 Grade Level - In a developmental capacity, serve as an entry level Civil (Structural) Engineering Technician performing technical and design assignments primarily by use of Computer Aided Design/Drafting (CADD), AutoCAD, and REVIT.
- GS-07 Grade Level - Assist engineers in the preparation of quantity estimates, and is responsible for technical accuracy of calculations and project features.
- GS-07 Grade Level - Assist engineers to conduct site reconnaissance for the purpose of: (a) collecting data on existing, anticipated, or as-constructed conditions, (b) analyzes and selects tentative field locations for specific project features.
- GS-08 Grade Level - Works under closer than normal supervision as the trainee level performing assignments designed to provide the competencies, skills, or experience required to perform the more complex work at the full performance grade level.
- GS-08 Grade Level - Work includes preparing structural CADD drawings and REVIT models from sketches or verbal direction provided by Structural Section engineers, architectural drawings, or REVIT project model.
- GS-08 Grade Level - Prepare detail quantities for cost estimating, detailed plans for contract drawings, and/or advanced REVIT models to determine quantities and placing quantities in Excel.
- GS-08 Grade Level - Conduct site reconnaissance for the purpose of: (a) collecting data on existing, anticipated, or as-constructed conditions, (b) analyzing and/or selecting tentative field locations for specific project features.
- GS-09 Grade Level - Work with engineers, architects, and CADD managers to maintain an accurate REVIT model, and/or CAD drawings and be fully responsible for maintaining the REVIT model and CAD drawings with little oversight.
- GS-09 Grade Level - Assure that structural details and drawings are compatible with structural design requirements.
- GS-09 Grade Level - Assist engineers in the preparation of quantity estimates, ensure technical accuracy of calculations and project features, and/or prepare advanced REVIT models to determine quantities and placing quantities in Excel.
- GS-09 Grade Level - Conduct site reconnaissance for the purpose of: (a) collecting data on existing, anticipated, or as-constructed conditions, or (b) analyzing and selecting tentative field locations for specific project features.
