Superconducting electronics forms the core of our technology, with a focus on novel means of energy-efficient computation. Qualified individuals will join our team in its mission to transform computing beyond Moore's Law, advancing development of computer architectures, processing/memory subsystems, and large scale high performance computing systems. You'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside a broad array of scientists and engineers to make these processing solutions a reality. NGMS is seeking Senior Principal Software Engineers with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative Transformational Computing team to help develop software in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.The software these engineers will be developing supports next-generation supercomputing capabilities and includes simulations, algorithms, test automation, and data management and analysis capabilities. As a Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise wide digital transformation. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning and a culture of automation.The selected individual will work on software in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development and test. Candidates should be familiar with the Agile methodology of software development, best practices of software design, and Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deliver (CI/CD) tools and processes. Candidates should also be familiar with object-oriented programming languages and have an eagerness to learn.All job functions require close teamwork across functional disciplines and integrated product teams in a fast paced environment. This program area is expanding which offers the potential for future growth opportunities (technical lead, software architect, etc.) for candidates who successfully demonstrate exceptional performance and leadership.This position is located in Linthicum, MD.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) disciplineA minimum of 2 years of experience in the software development, and/or programming engineering industryExperience with object-oriented programming and software development lifecycle.Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD TS/SCI clearancePreferred Qualifications:Active TS/SCI clearanceExperience with full stack web development and/or micro-services architectureExperience with Java web applications and/or PythonExperience with RESTful web servicesBackground in signal analysis, feature detection, flow control, automation, device testing, results validation, test validation, configuration management, algorithm optimization, search algorithms, hardware communication, messaging noSQL, protocols, test replication, test parallelization, data visualization, and/or UI design.Experience with software languages such as Angular, JavaScript, Node, CSS MATLAB and TCLExperience with developing applications across various environments and platforms, including Tomcat, Apache, MongoDB, MySQL, Neo4j.Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with continuous integration tools and version control tools such as GoCD, Jenkins, Git and ArtifactoryExperience with monitoring and metrics tools such as Prometheus/GrafanaSalary Range: 77952 - 116928Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
