What You Will Do As a Geohazard Mitigation Technician working for GSI, there is no typical day and the scenery changes often. You will be working outside with your hands in a wide variety of climates. On one project you may be working on a slope installing a retaining wall and the next project you could be stabilizing a bridge. This is the perfect career for someone that does not want to work in a traditional setting like a warehouse or office. This is hard work. This is gritty work. How You Will Make a Difference * Move materials on a construction site * Mix, spray, run hoses, and operate shotcrete or grouting pumps * Operate rock drills * Operate construction equipment such as excavator, all terrain forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and front end loaders * Reading and determining measurements * Maintain a clean and organized construction site * Working together in a team environment What You Need to Bring * Any prior soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation experience OR * Prior construction industry experience as a carpenter or framer for example OR * Prior concrete experience such as a concrete finisher/form builder or shotcrete experience * Must not be afraid of heights * A CDL Class A or a clean Motor Vehicle Driving Record * The ability to travel at least 3 weeks out of every month * Reliability and a strong work ethic * Ability to get along with a diverse group of people GeoStabilization International is an equal opportunity employer.
