Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.This position will report to the Director of Accounting Consultation and perform technical GAAP accounting research and other financial analysis as required. Position Responsibilities and duties include:Provide on call technical accounting guidance to the sectors.Research and analyze new and proposed accounting pronouncements and application of existing pronouncements to complex business transactions.Conclude and provide guidance to the sectors on accounting for leases.Lead in the Company's implementation of new accounting standards.Draft white papers summarizing technical accounting issues, application of accounting guidance to the company, alternatives available and recommendations.Coordinate research findings and evaluation of alternatives with external auditors.Prepare presentations of accounting treatment with recommendations and present to senior finance management.Update Company accounting policies for new accounting pronouncements and other changes.Support management in the preparation of various presentations made to the members of the Audit and Risk Committee and Senior ManagementAdministrate the Company's accounting research and CPE license subscriptions.Prepare and present technical accounting training on a regular basis.Perform miscellaneous financial analysis as required.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, and 12 years of relevant work experience; 10 years of relevant work experience with a master's degree. Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. Master's degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience.Public Accounting IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:Recent Big 4 or recognized public accounting firm audit experience (minimum manager level)Strong GAAP accounting proficiency and research experienceBasic computer and financial analysis skills, including use and understanding of spreadsheetsExcellent oral and written communication skillsSelf-motivated, yet functions well in a team environmentStrong project management skillsPrior experience in Aerospace & defense industry.Salary Range: 137192 - 205788Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
