Along with those qualities, Residential Engineering Managers must also bring: Experience with the disciplines of stationary engineering, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, other mechanical systems and/or general building/facilities maintenance and a desire for continual learning and developmentSpecific licensure in another building-related trade is desired, but not requiredAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, controls, and components using appropriate toolsCertification as a CFC Universal Technician from a US EPA-approved program is requiredFamiliarity with the operation of building automation systems is preferredFive or more years of supervisory experience preferred Prior exposure to new construction / lease-ups, large-scale renovation projects and acquisitions preferredAbility to read construction documents, blueprints, pneumatic mechanical and/or electric controls drawingsIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook) to prepare reports and other operations documentation; general capability with the operation of a PC and mobile communication devicesDemonstrated passion for service and a commitment to excellence Dependability as a team member who always gives their best and pitches in when others need help to ensure that collectively the team meets its goalsProfessional presentation and superior written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsMust have a valid drivers license and dependable transportationAbility to routinely lift up to 50 pounds (supplies, appliances, etc.)JBG SMITH is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
