The George Mason University, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) invites applications for a Part-time Mental Health Clinician position. About Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS):

Counseling and Psychological Services supports students through ethical and responsive care and prevention. We foster the well-being of the diverse Mason community through psychological, learning, outreach, and consultation services. We provide high-quality training to emerging mental health professionals. We are committed to excellence in psychological and learning services by promoting student safety, enhancing emotional growth, and supporting academic success.

Our center is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm; the candidate for this position will work 16-24 hours per week.


  • Provide brief (1-3 session) skills-based interventions, and may also provide initial evaluation, crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and referral services to university students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a similar field;
  • Current license to practice as a Psychologist, Counselor or Social Worker in Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with collegiate mental health or similar developmental populations;
  • Experience with CBT and DBT therapies.
