Data and Finance Assistant, Law & Economics Center

George Mason University's Law & Economics Center (LEC), within the Antonin Scalia Law School, invites applications for a Data and Finance Assistant. About the Center:

The LEC of the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School is a national center for research and education that focuses on the timely and relevant economic analysis of legal and public policy issues.

Responsibilities:

The LEC seeks a self-motivated and detailed Data and Finance Assistant whose primary responsibilities will include the day-to-day data and financial operations of the Law & Economics Center. The Data and Finance Assistant will assist with management of data systems and contacts, processing payments, monitoring and reconciling expenses and budgets, as well preparing reports. Effective management of these systems and processes supports LEC leadership and the education programs offered by the LEC, with an appreciation for the well-educated audiences the LEC and the law school serves and the ability to execute professional and polished events with excellence.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or combination of equivalent education and experience, with demonstrated relevant work experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a familiarity with database software;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and information systems skills;
  • Knowledge of automated systems and related procedures and applications in an accounting environment;
  • Professional appearance and manner;
  • Ability to manage relationships with Antonin Scalia Law, George Mason University staff, and George Mason University Foundation staff, as well as external service providers;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize competing demands in order to meet deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of database management and financial experience.
