The George Mason University, Antonin Scalia Law School is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for a temporary HR Specialist position. Reporting to the Director of Finance and HR, the HR Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Law School's human resources matters, and overseeing personnel related functions for the department.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate HR/Recruitment function for the school. Includes coordinating hiring for all categories of employees (Instructional/research faculty, admin/professional faculty, classified, wage, etc.);
- Ensure job postings are accurate and the language used on the posting is in alignment with the state's policies and HR & provost procedures;
- Post positions in eWork; entering hiring proposals in routing systems; and originating appointment letters;
- Function as the Search Committee coordinator for all departmental searches;
- Coordinate personnel actions;
- Coordinate the department's onboarding, orientation, and training, including coordinating start dates, office logistics, etc.;
- Disseminate HR-related information within the department as appropriate;
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Knowledge of general office procedures, systems and equipment; knowledge of university personnel and hiring procedures and related employment procedures preferred;
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, applicant tracking, and other information systems and PC tools;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Self-starter, highly motivated and detail oriented;
- Ability to work with senior management personnel;
- Ability to apply university policies and procedures;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Human Resources experience;
- Higher education experience.
