Integrated Communications and Marketing is a multimedia, service-focused operation that leads in shaping the impression of AARP by providing communications planning, marketing, support and execution for AARP's strategic business units.
Summary

This position reports to the VP, Experiences and Connections and directs the development, execution, and implementation of new events and experiences that support the goals of the AARP Virtual Community Center, the Fun and Fulfillment Enterprise Issue, the AARP Movies for Grownups editorial franchise, and other activities to support AARP publications. Directs the execution and the evaluation of existing engagement programs for the above areas to identify improvements and to measure outcomes. Collaborates with senior leadership in the development of long-term goals and strategic plans to ensure continued successful growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan and execute virtual programming for inclusion of the AARP Virtual Community Center.
  • Develop the new content and programs that support Enterprise Issue "Fun & Fulfillment" consisting of scaled in-person events and other activities that support a sense of social connectedness for targeted audiences.
  • Direct the planning and execution of content and programs that support the Enterprise Issue "Fun & Fulfillment" consisting of scaled in-person events, and other activities that support a sense of social connectedness for targeted audiences.
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure content and programs are successfully promoted to attract and engage target audiences.
  • Ensure integration and coordination of content with Members Only Access on AARP.org and the AARP Virtual Community Center.
  • Direct and lead cross-organizational teams on special editorial promotional activities and projects such as the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards.
  • Represents Fun & Fulfillment on cross-organizational initatives, collaboration and integration efforts, and working groups.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of program, product or event management.
  • Experience managing virtual and in-person teams required.
  • Ability to execute program, operational, and strategic goals, continuously refining and adapting approaches in response to feedback, research, and insights.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing programs, products or events including strategy, plans, budgets, marketing strategies, performance metrics, and partnerships, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success building internal and external strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and tracking performance data and reporting on results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines, working on multiple concurrent programs requiring gathering, design, and project planning/management.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations and clearly communicate program strategies and solutions.
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills, team player, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proven ability to meet goals and objectives while working in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
