Manager, CRA Strategy & Program Management

Within Capital One, External Affairs (EA) is an organization dedicated to delivering on Capital One's Mission by strengthening our reputation, deepening our relationships in our communities, managing engagement with the federal bank regulatory agencies, and serving as Capital One's voice in the legislative and political processes at the federal, state and local levels. The EA organization comprises CRA Strategy & Program Management, Government & Policy Affairs, Regulatory Relations, Corporate Communications, Community Finance, Community Impact & Investment, and EA Strategy & Engagement.

The CRA Strategy & Program Management team is looking for a self-motivated individual to play a critical role on our Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data management and regulatory reporting team. By assisting in ensuring the integrity of Capital One's regulatory data this individual will be contributing to the company's goal of continuing our track record of outstanding CRA performance. Specifically, the ideal candidate will process and manage these regulatory data, using software tools, and monitor and support their quality assurance in accordance with the team's data compliance and reporting controls.

Responsibilities:
  • Loan file review specialist whose primary responsibilities are to validate accuracy and completeness of data collected for analysis and reporting purposes by CRA Compliance and for regulatory reporting
  • Work with the lines of business (LOBs) to improve data quality and integrity through the accurate data collection processes and sound operational controls to mitigate risks.
  • Assist with preparations related to the annual submission of complete and accurate CRA Loan Registers (LRs) to the appropriate regulatory agency
  • Manage and process, within CRAWiz TM software, data received from LOBs
  • Prepare timely reports on data errors and process deficiencies for distribution to LOB management
  • Analyze data errors to determine trends and monitor corrective actions to measure performance and responsiveness by business units
  • Work with the LOB and TECH to anticipate impacts to data capture and reporting resulting from changes in processes, people and systems
  • Work with large data sets and identify data anomalies using various methods such as trend reports and data filters to ensure the data is compliant


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years experience in loan document review or data quality assurance or auditing, or any combination
  • At least one year of experience with Google (Docs) and Microsoft (Excel) products
  • At least one year of experience utilizing internet research tools


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5 or more years experience in progressively more responsible quality assurance or audit roles
  • Familiarity with use of CRAWiz software
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong database management skills
