$47,000 -$55,000

POSITION SUMMARY:

Housing Up is seeking a Property Manager (PM) who will work in collaboration with our contracted property management firm, Director of Asset Management and Development and site-based case managers in ensuring that Housing Up’s properties are safe, secure, and run efficiently. The PM will handle a broad range of tenant requests and service as a point of contact. This role includes responsibility for ensuring PM related tasks are completed and proactively initiated as needed at various stages in the property management lifecycle. The job requires a mix of online work and on-site visits to Housing Up’ s multi-family properties in Washington DC (4 units).

Responsibilities include unit turnover and showings, assisting management company with maintenance requests, inspections, and all tenant and lease related matters. A candidate must have access to a reliable vehicle to travel locally to multiple sites. Some Saturday and evening work is required. The Property Manager is backed up by The Director of Asset Management and Development who will provide support, training, and coaching.

EDUCATIONAL & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma/GED required; some college beneficial

Work Experience: 1-3 years of experience required

Licenses/Certifications: CAM (beneficial), ARM (beneficial), real estate license (beneficial), and valid driver’s license required

Property Manager Qualifications:

Experience in DC and DC rental laws

Superior writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills

Exceptional phone manner

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Excellent customer service and possess the art of making people feel special

A high level of organization with the ability to track, prioritize, and manage a large volume of details

Ability to resolve matters and assigned tasks promptly, thoroughly, and equitably

Ability to assess and prioritize workload to balance competing demands, deadlines, as well as complete day-to-day tasks in a timely fashion

Must possess an extreme attention to detail, yet flexible when required

Must be dependable, punctual, pleasant to work with

Ability to work without supervision and in a team environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with property management software, and ability to quickly learn other software

Responsibilities for Property Manager:

Manage the operations of the buildings as assigned by the Director of Asset Management and Development, which includes and is not limited to working collectively with the contracted property management firm, Maintenance staff and security.  Ensure completion and quality of service provided

Assist in lease ups of units

Exercise common sense, good judgment, and consistency in day-to-day contact with residents and prospective applicants and in other business-related matters

Prior experience in multifamily residential property management

History of maintaining high occupancy, low turnover, and low delinquency

Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to property management

Collection of rental deposits and reconciliation 

Management of the maintenance request line
