SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as developing data analysis and management methodologies for dissemination of the results and impact of an energy research and development (R&D) program; improving the management and effectiveness of energy efficiency and renewable energy (EERE) operations for (R&D) programs; presenting EERE project/program objectives, content and progress to a variety of audiences and reporting results back to management.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration. Responsibilities
As a Energy Technology Program Specialist, you will:
- Serve as a project manager responsible for a variety of complex activities, primarily focused on enabling the Office to adopt cutting edge analysis and data management innovations and apply them across the entire (Research and Development) R&D portfolio in order to inform future project development and planning, improve ongoing active project management, and to establish long-term results tracking and impact evaluation best-practices.
- Collaborate with Program Managers and the Office Director to develop and execute a long-term strategy for improving public access and dissemination of data collected during or produced from ongoing R&D activities.
- Provide support and training on technical program activities, monitors assigned projects/programs, and supplies justification as to the importance of efforts and consequences of not providing the necessary funding.
- Oversee the coordination and interaction with other EE (Energy Efficiency), DOE offices and other Federal agencies as well as with public and private interest groups in implementing energy technology projects/program. Prepare responses to Congressional and other executive correspondence, and responds to telephone requests for information about the energy technology program.
