Flat Glass Technician 1 (Glazier) is an entry-level position. In addition, this person will perform a variety of in-shop tasks including cutting and glass, mirror, and acrylic. Shop tasks also include repairing windows, screens, storm panels, and other items which customers request. This person will lead road work of low complexity jobs including measuring, fabricating, and installing commercial and residential glass products such as windows, mirrors, and shower doors. In addition, this person will assist on road work. Essential Functions:Measure and install heavy shower door installations.Measure and install mirror wall installations.Measure and install replacement windows and patio doors.Read and interpret field drawings and blueprints.Read a measuring tape.Maintain accurate records and document obstacles.Meet personal/team sales targets.Drive a company vehicle.Other duties as assigned.Competencies:High School Diploma or equivalent.Ability to use tools such as tape measures, levels, hand drills, and electric saws.Individual must be able to read and perform arithmetic in fractions and decimals.Individual must provide their own set of basic hand and electric tools.Verbal and written communication skills.Multi-tasking skills.Time Management skills. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach above head with hands and arms, lift push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, pull, talk, and hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision may be corrected within normal range. The noise level in the work environment can be high. Working indoors and outdoors is a regular occurrence. The employee is required to work on ladders of all sizes as well as off scaffolding, swing staging, and other man-lifting devices.
