Nature and Variety of Work We Want You To Join OurTeam Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply The Prince George's County Health Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill multiple Community Health Nurse I/II positions, grade A-18/21, for the Adolescent Health Program within its Family Health Services Division. Thisisentry to full performance level professional work performed to address the healthcare needs of targeted populations using the nursing process/assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide healthcare services to at-risk mothers and infants. The incumbent is supervised and evaluated by a Program Chief according to departmental rules policies and procedures. Examples of Work * Assess health care needs of high-risk mothers and infants; * Implement health care plans that include teaching, counseling, and referrals; * Conduct home visits to obtain and assess appropriate health care needs for clients; * Consult with health care providers and other personnel/agencies to discuss/share information and coordinate services for high-risk mothers/infants; * Document and maintain clients' health care records; * Participate at meetings, workshops, training sessions, and conferences; and, * Perform other tasks and duties as assigned that may not be specifically listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, or a related healthfield. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Additional Information CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon selection, applicant must: 1.Possess and maintain avalidRegistered Nurse License issued by the Maryland StateBoard of Nursing, or a license recognized by the Compact State Agreement. 2. Possess and maintain avalid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification. 3. Possess and maintains a valid driver's license. 4. Pass athoroughphysical examination. 5. Pass an extensive background investigation. DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligibles, which becomes effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
